Challenge: Obsolete timing part, no longer commercially available.
Solution: Reverse engineering: analysis, 3D scan, CAD reconstruction, validation, prototype, series manufacturing.
Impact: 80 units produced in series for a tier-1 supplier.

Helicopter accessory bracket

42 %mass reduction

Challenge: Reduce the mass of an accessory bracket without degrading its mechanical strength.
Solution: Topology optimisation and titanium 3D printing.
Impact: 42 % mass reduction.

Steam turbine blade

Challenge: Refurbishment of a turbine blade on an industrial site.
Solution: Micron-level scanning and 5-axis machining, on-site MRO.
Impact: Result not documented to date

Construction & materials

Scan-to-BIM of a plant in production

Challenge: Plant in continuous operation, with no existing digital model.
Solution: High-precision laser scanning and usable as-built modelling.
Impact: First reliable digital baseline of the installation.
